Latin (KS2 – A-Level – online & in-person) – Kieron Latin A Level, Adult Learning, GCSE, KS2, KS3

Ashbourne DE6, UK

Latin is the foundation of many modern European languages. I am a very experienced teacher and tutor of this fascinating language, having studied Classics at the University of Cambridge and taught at one of the leading schools in the UK, Wellington College.

I am a GCSE examiner for the Latin specification for OCR and have taught complete beginners to undergraduate level Latin. I have an outstanding track record of assisting students to exceed their target grades, both in school and a homeschooled environment. I provide engaging and informative lessons which are designed to be a fun and enjoyable experience for the student. Together with the language, I enjoy providing cultural and historical context to the language work which we undertake as part of the course.

I have experience working with complete beginners, those taking examinations to Eton, Harrow and other leading UK independent schools, GCSE, A Level and undergraduate students at Cambridge, Oxford and Durham Universities.

If you are seeking tuition at any level, although with particular emphasis on examination preparation (13+ / Scholarship / GCSE / A Level / Oxbridge), I would be delighted to discuss options with you.

I am a graduate from the University of Cambridge and prior to this attended Repton School in rural Derbyshire where I gained straight As at A Level in Biology, Chemistry, Latin and Ancient Greek. Following graduation, I worked as an analyst in an investment bank for a number of years before taking up a teaching role at Wellington College.

I have thousands of hours teaching and tutoring experience across a range of subjects, levels and abilities. Despite my academic background being in Classics, I also have experience of tutoring the Sciences, History, Maths and English to GCSE level, as well as preparing students for entry into UK Independent Schools at 13+. I have worked with clients on a face-to-face basis and online in Canada, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Dubai.

My younger tutees have successfully gained places at Eton, Harrow, Wellington, Epsom, Charterhouse, Westminster as well as successful university applications to Oxford and Cambridge.

I am a highly committed, experienced and passionate educator who always strives to get the best from students. I believe that enjoyment and education should go hand-in-hand, and for that reason always seek to develop a positive, enjoyable and motivated learning environment for the students. Whether in a classroom or one-to-one, my teaching style always focuses on building the student’s confidence in their own ability to achieve results. I have two goals in my lessons, for them to be educational and enjoyable. If children can laugh whist learning and be inspired and engaged in what I have to teach them, then the lesson is a success.
